Seven Diamonds in Sahrat

These are Sahrat’s default rules. Where tables differ from one majlis to another, the difference is a table option, and every option is free.

Seven Diamonds is a partner game between two teams; the first player to get rid of all their cards wins the round for their team.

1Players

  • 4 players in two teams: your partner sits across from you.
  • The first team to reach 500 points wins.

2Cards and the deal

  • 32 cards: 7 up to Ace in all four suits (no 2 to 6).
  • Each player gets 8 cards.
  • The first dealer is picked at random, then the deal moves to the right.
  • Play goes to the right.

3Double and triple

  • Before play, the player on the dealer's right speaks first: say «دبل» (double) or pass.
  • After a double, only the other team may answer «ثري» (triple), and each player speaks once.
  • A double multiplies the points by x2 and a triple by x3, whether the doubling team wins or loses.
  • If all four pass, the round is played normally at x1.

4Your turn

  • The holder of the 7 of diamonds lays it first, and no other card can start.
  • After that each player lays one card per turn: either the next card up in a suit that is already open (in order 7 8 9 10 Jack Queen King Ace), or a 7 of a new suit.
  • Nothing goes below a 7.
  • If you have a card that fits, you must play it.
  • If no card fits, you «جلّة» (pass), and the server passes you automatically.
  • The app announces «آخر ورقة» (last card) when a player is down to one card.

5Scoring

  • The first player out wins the round for their team.
  • The winning team scores the points of the cards left in the losing team's hands: Ace 20, King, Queen and Jack 10 each, and every other card (the 10 included) 0.
  • The winning team's own cards (your partner's included) never count.
  • +200 if the last card laid is a 7.
  • A double or triple multiplies the points, the 200 included, after they are counted.

6Time

  • 10 seconds for the double and triple call, 12 seconds for a card.
  • If your time runs out, you pass the call and a card is played for you.
